The Community Chorus of Port Townsend and E. Jefferson County, Washington

is a non-profit, educational, artistic, and recreational organization established exclusively to benefit the general public, for which it provides music and from which its membership is composed. We are committed to rehearsing and performing choral repertory at the highest level of choral artistry achievable by the members.

The chorus has two seasons a year, normally culminating in two concerts per season. Winter or holiday concerts are generally in early December and the spring concerts are generally in April or May. We are often accompanied by orchestras of talented local musicians. We encourage participation by experienced and novice singers 16 years and older. Part of our mission is to provide a forum for those who are returning to choral music.

You can still view A Virtual Christmas: Sing-Along & Concert with First Presbyterian Church Port Townsend on Youtube. "An hour of music with your friends, Sarah Moran, Susanne Skadron, Gregory Lewis, Wild Rose Chorale, Walter Vaux, Diane Vaux, Kim Clarke, Jack Reid, Debbie Reid and Liz Hopkins."

Dear Community Chorus Patrons and Friends,

We miss you all and are so grateful to have had your support over the years. We will miss singing Handelís Messiah for you and the community in December. The Community Chorus has performed the Messiah every 5 years since the chorus came together in 1975. This year would have been our 45th season, our 10th presentation of the Messiah!

These are unprecedented times and we know many groups and individuals that are facing serious challenges. We have decided not to hold our regular patron drive this fall as we donít know when it will be safe for our group to perform again. We are hoping to bring a wonderful Messiah performance to you in the fall of 2021.

We are still meeting remotely to keep chorus members engaged and provide support. Sadly, we canít sing together since singing has been described as ďone of the most dangerous activities on the planet.Ē But the chorus has not dissolved. The board of directors and our singers are determined to keep our wonderful community together.

Please keep us in your thoughts as we extend our best wishes to you and yours during this holiday season and the months to come. Visit the chorus website at ptchorus.org for official news and updates. Join us on Facebook to share your thoughts and see what chorus members and friends are up to.

Stay well and know that we are still singing (alone, at home), and excited to bring our voices to the community as soon as we can.

Best Wishes from the Community Chorus and the Board
